Turkish business body inks deal with UNHCR to boost refugee conditions
Cooperation based on developing sustainable opportunities in fields of employment, education, and livelihoods for refugees in Türkiye

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Türkiye Representation signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on Thursday combining private sector social responsibility capacity with international humanitarian mechanisms for refugees in Türkiye.
The signing ceremony, in Istanbul, was attended by business representatives and international officials, including MUSIAD President Burhan Ozdemir and UNHCR Türkiye Representative Angela Li Rosi, the business body said in a statement on Thursday.
MUSIAD stated that the agreement will bring the private sector's economic dynamism together with social solidarity and cohesion goals on a stronger foundation.
The strategic cooperation established with UNHCR is based on developing sustainable opportunities in the fields of employment, education, and livelihoods.
The partnership aims to increase the economic resilience of refugee communities, support their participation in the labor market, and strengthen social cohesion.
MUSIAD targets spreading responsible private sector participation, multiplying good practice examples, and reflecting an inclusive development understanding to the field through its strong member network and business ecosystem.
