Turkish court remands 9 PKK/KCK suspects

GAZIANTEP (AA) - A Turkish court remanded nine suspects in the country's southeastern Gaziantep province over links to the PKK/KCK terror group, security sources said Friday.

Those remanded include Musa Aydin, a provincial head of the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), and two aldermen from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).

Earlier, prosecutors had issued warrants for the suspects in a probe against the terror group, following which 33 were arrested on Thursday.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
