Turkish Cypriot president marks Anadolu's 103rd anniversary

Anadolu ‘has a voice on a global scale’ with its experience of more than a century, says Ersin Tatar

ANKARA (AA) – Ersin Tatar, president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), on Thursday celebrated the 103rd anniversary of Anadolu, the country's premier news agency.

In a statement, Tatar said: “I sincerely congratulate the 103rd anniversary of Anadolu, which witnessed all phases of the Turkish national struggle as well as the War of Independence, and conveyed the republican revolutions to the Turkish people and the world at every stage of recent history.”

Noting that Anadolu, which was founded in 1920, with the mission of making the voice of Anatolia, the Turkish heartland, be heard by the world, Tatar said that the news agency “transcends Türkiye’s borders and has a voice on a global scale” with its experience of more than a century.

Türkiye's flagship Anadolu is celebrating its 103rd anniversary, as it was founded on April 6, 1920 -- 17 days before the Turkish Grand National Assembly convened for the first time on April 23 amid the Turkish War of Independence.

Since its foundation, Anadolu has worked to disseminate factual news across the globe with confidence, impartiality, professionalism and speed.
