Turkish firm Karmod introduces 4-story container buildings to cut construction site costs

ISTANBUL - Turkish modular building manufacturer Karmod has launched a four-story container model designed to help construction firms reduce costs and optimize space at job sites, according to a company statement on Wednesday.

Karmod’s R&D Manager Mustafa Haciomer said the new model simplifies on-site layout planning and enables contractors to make budget savings on site facility investments.

“With our new four-story container model, we’re not only supporting construction projects but also offering scalable building solutions for different needs,” Hacıomer said.

He explained that the design was developed in response to the limited space typically available on urban construction sites, particularly in urban renewal projects. “In areas where space is at a premium, the use of four-story containers brings significant relief,” he said.

The model combines accommodation and dining spaces within a single structure—functions that traditionally required two separate buildings.

This integration frees up more space on the worksite and improves mobility and efficiency, Haciomer added.

According to Karmod, the multi-story configuration also provides budgetary advantages by consolidating functions into one unit, eliminating the need for separate foundations, roofing systems, or stair installations.

“Contractors using our four-story containers achieve savings across multiple construction components,” Haciomer said.

While developed for construction sites, the company says the model is also suitable for student dormitories, education facilities, and tourism accommodations. Karmod’s insulated and safety-certified design ensures ergonomic and durable living spaces in each use case.

“Our multi-story container buildings can be safely adapted to serve as dormitories, classrooms, or social facilities,” Haciomer said. “We are creating comfortable, efficient, and sustainable modular spaces for every need.”
