ANKARA (AA) – Turkish Armed Forces hit seven Daesh targets in the Barakah, Anifah and Abu Hayj regions of northern Syria, the military announced on Friday.

Thursday’s attacks included two headquarters, three defense positions, an armed vehicle and an arsenal.

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) soldiers continued air and land-based attacks to gain control of Al-Bab city.

The military also confirmed on Friday that one Turkish soldier and four FSA fighters had been martyred. Five members of the Turkish Armed Forces and 25 FSA fighters were also injured during clashes.

In separate strikes, targets hit included 94 Daesh objectives, including shelters, command-and-control centers and vehicles.

Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August to rid Syria's northern border area of terrorists. Friday marks the 94th day of the operation.

Over 215 residential areas, including more than 1,820 square kilometers (694 square miles), of land in northern Syria have been cleared of Daesh terrorists as part of the operation so far.

The military statement on Friday also said a total of 40 mines and 1,758 improvised explosives had been defused since the start of the operation on Aug. 24.
