Turkish forces 'neutralize' 5 PKK terrorists

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish security forces "neutralized" five PKK terrorists Wednesday in eastern Bingol province, the local governor’s office said.

An air supported counter-terrorism operation was carried out against the terrorists in Yayladere district, Bingol Governor’s office said in a statement.

Also on Wednesday, a PKK terrorist with an AK-47 rifle was captured in Cimenli area of southeastern Hakkari province, the local governor’s office said.

More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
