ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Singapore for four days next week to take part in a series of events linked to an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers' meeting.
“Ministers/Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs from 30 countries including the ASEAN member states, the ASEAN Dialogue Partners and Sectoral Dialogue Partners, and the participants of the ASEAN Regional Forum will participate in the 51st ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting,” said a Foreign Ministry statement.
The statement said that following up on last year’s establishment of a sectoral dialogue partnership between Turkey and ASEAN, the first-ever ASEAN-Turkey Trilateral Ministerial Meeting will be held with the attendance of Cavusoglu, ASEAN Secretary General Dato Lim Jock Hoi, and Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who is also ASEAN's 2018 chairman.
Cavusoglu is also expected to have bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other participating countries, the statement added.
