Turkish intelligence nabs KCK/PKK terrorist abroad, brings back home

ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish intelligence nabbed a member of the KCK/PKK terror group in northern Iraq and brought him back to Türkiye, a security source said on Friday.

Burhan Picak, codenamed Canser-Laser, was the so-called commander of the terror group's hit squad as well as Iraq's Sinjar and Mosul regions, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

He was nabbed in northern Iraq and brought back to Türkiye in an operation by the National Intelligence Organization.

The terrorist, who is responsible for activities against Türkiye, is known to be trained at YPG/PKK terror group's camps in Syria after he crossed the border in 2015.

Later, Picak was also trained on assassination and then was put in charge of a hit squad.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
