Turkey's founder, president depicted as enemies during NATO drill, says the Turkish General Staff

By Kasim Ileri

ANKARA (AA) - A portrait of Turkey’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was shown in the ‘hostile leader list’ during a computerized drill by NATO, the Turkish General Staff said Friday.

The statement added that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was depicted as an “enemy collaborator", during the drill.

This was confirmed by a Turkish force personnel who attended the Trident Javelin drill held in Norway from Nov. 8-17.

The statement added that a fake account under Erdogan’s name was created and a fake chat which showed him collaborating with enemies was posted.

Turkey withdrew its 40 soldiers from the exercise after the incident, it added.

NATO apologized to Turkey in writing following the incident.
