Humanitarian Relief Foundation sends coal to 230 families, food packages to 150 families near Mt. Burseya and Azaz in Syria

AZAZ, Syria (AA) - Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) has delivered coal to over 230 families and food packages to 150 families in Syria.

As part of the foundation’s “there are millions cold outside” winter project, the aid was delivered to families in Yazi Bagh, a village at the foot of Mt. Bursaya that was recently liberated during Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch, and in Aleppo’s Azaz district, which was liberated during Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield.

“We have delivered aid to Syrian Arabs, Turkmens, and Kurds who live in difficult conditions in Yazi Bagh village…,” IHH media representative for Turkey’s Kilis Ali Imran Durman told Anadolu Agency.

“Following the operation, we have begun to deliver aid to villages surrounding Mt. Bursaya more comfortably.

“We aim to reach everyone in need in areas that have found peace just as in Operation Euphrates Shield,” Durman said.

He also said the foundation was prepared in case of migration from Afrin, where tents, blankets, food packages and basic needs for civilians would be met.

On Jan. 20, Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch to rid Afrin of PYD/PKK and Daesh terrorists.

According to the Turkish General Staff, the operation aims to establish security and stability along Turkey’s borders and the region as well as protect Syrians from terrorist oppression and cruelty.
