Turkish parliament speaker meets Inter-Parliamentary Union head in Indonesian capital

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AA) - Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop on Friday met with the head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Duarte Pacheco on the sidelines of the G-20 Parliament Speakers' Summit in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

Commenting on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Sentop said: "Türkiye has been making efforts to bring the leaders of the two countries together from the very beginning. In my opinion, contrary to their public statements, some countries do not want the war to come to an end"

Pacheco, for his part, thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his efforts to help resolve the recent crisis between the two countries.
