Turkish PM marks police department's 173rd anniversary
Binali Yildirim: Imperial powers…are trying to stall us, to reduce our energy by implicitly creating new terror groups

ANKARA (AA) - Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Tuesday marked the 173rd anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Police Department.
Yildirim made the remarks after meeting Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu and a delegation from the General Directorate of Security at Cankaya Palace in capital Ankara.
According to footage released by the Prime Ministry, Yildirim hailed the Turkish Police Department for all its successes so far, saying the achievements of the department were not limited to Turkey.
He acknowledged the police’s role and responsibility under the framework of NATO to ensure security against irregular immigration and terror threats in the Balkans region and all over Europe.
Police forces of Turkey have a glorious history going back 173 years and they are continuing to display an exemplary behavior, Yildirim said.
