Turkish police removed for extradition of Egyptian

Commission charged by governorship investigates process

ISTANBUL (AA) - Eight police officers were removed from office and a commission established for the investigation of the extradition of an Egypt citizen, according to a statement Tuesday from the governorship of Istanbul.

“A commission has been charged by the governorship under the chairmanship of the Deputy Governor for the examination and investigation of the extradition process of the Egyptian Mohamed Abdelhafiz Ahmed Hussein to his country,” said the governorship.

With the approval of the Governor's Office, eight police officers from the passport control branch of directorate of security at Ataturk Airport were removed from their offices in accordance with the offer of the investigator in charge for the security of the examination and investigation conducted, according to the Governorship.
