Turkish President Erdogan welcomes Azerbaijani counterpart

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday welcomed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at an official welcoming ceremony in the capital Ankara.

Aliyev arrived at the presidential complex for the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline.

Erdogan welcomed Aliyev at the entrance gate to the complex.

Later, the two presidents posed for a photo on the stairs in front of the flags of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, countries customarily known for their close friendship as "one nation, two states."
