Turkish security forces nab Daesh suspects possessing drugs
Suspects caught in simultaneous operations in Mersin, Istanbul, Ankara, northwestern Sakarya provinces

MERSIN, Türkiye (AA) - Turkish security forces nabbed five terror suspects late Tuesday with ties to the Daesh/ISIS terror group who possessed illegal drugs, during an operation in southern Mersin province.
The identities and addresses of the suspects operating as part of the Daesh/ISIS terror organization were determined, according to a statement by the Mersin Provincial Gendarmerie Command.
The suspects were caught in simultaneous operations in Mersin, Istanbul, Ankara and northwestern Sakarya provinces under coordination with the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
A total of 17,560 synthetic pills and 2.65 kilograms (5.8 pounds) of cannabis were also found at the addresses. Documents and digital materials were also seized for examination.
Proceedings of the suspects in the gendarmerie are undergoing.
