Turkish stock exchange begins week up

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock opened Monday at 11,308.24 points, up 0.18% or 20.19 points.

On Friday, the BIST 100 was down 0.71% at 11,288.05 points with a daily transaction volume of 122.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.96 billion).

As of 10.25 am local time (0725GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.1170 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.2295 to the euro, and 55.6415 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,474.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.70 per barrel.
