Turkish stock exchange climbs 5.78% at Monday's close
Benchmark BIST 100 index earns 543.62 points at closing bell, marking largest daily gain in 2 years

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the first trading day of the week at 9,948.51 points, up 5.78% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 9,452.86, gained 543.62 points from the close on Friday.
The rise on Monday marked the largest daily gain since May 11, 2023.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,450.80, while the daily high was 9,949.51.
As many as 95 indexes gained in value, while five closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 165 billion Turkish liras ($4.15 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9 trillion liras ($227.9 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 39.8095 as of 6.25 pm local time (1525GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 46.7790, and the GBP/TRY traded at 54.5880.
The price of gold was $3,288.15 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $66.30.
