Turkish stock exchange down at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 14,314.06 points, down 0.18% or 25.26 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 rose by 1.12% to close at 14,339.30 points, with a daily transaction volume of 216 billion liras ($4.95 billion).

As of 10.15 am local time (0715GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.7345 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 51.8150 to the euro, and 59.4380 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,910.50, while Brent crude oil was trading at $67.60 per barrel.
