Turkish stock exchange ends week in red

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 9,019.57 points, down 1.65% from the previous close.

Starting Friday at 9,170.56 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 150.99 points from Thursday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 8,985.52, while its daily high was 9,176.18.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.17 trillion Turkish liras ($209.4 billion), with a daily trading volume of 86.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.19 billion).

During the day, 72 stocks on the index dropped and 27 rose compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,290.30, while Brent crude oil sold for around $62.35 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 39.2385, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 44.5900, while one British pound traded for 52.9325 Turkish liras.
