Turkish stock exchange opens higher on Friday
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gains over 5 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul opened at 2,181.31 points on Friday, rising 5.11 points, or 0.23%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index was down 0.32% at 2,176.20 points at Thursday's close, with a daily trading volume of 33.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 14.8284 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), from 14.8400 at Thursday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 16.3381 from 16.2990, while one British pound traded for 19.5871 Turkish liras, down from 19.6100 at the last close.
Brent crude oil sold for around $119.41 per barrel as of 9.54 a.m. local time (0654GMT).
