Turkish stock market closes higher on Tuesday
BIST 100 index gains over 19 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed at 2,547.09 points on Tuesday with a daily gain of 0.79%.
Starting the day at 2,538.89 points, the index rose 19.94 points from Monday's close of 2,527.15.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,527.72 points and its highest was 2,553.51.
Its total market value was more than 2 trillion Turkish liras ($126 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 57 billion Turkish liras ($3.4 billion).
During the second transaction day of the week, 61 stocks on the index rose, 37 fell and two remained unchanged, compared to Monday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, conglomerate Sabanci Holding, and oil refiner Tupras.
Polyester producer Sasa was the best performer of the day, with its shares up 6.73%, while real estate developer Kizilbuk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi saw the biggest drop of 9.62%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,850.50 by market close, down from $1,857.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
Price of Brent crude oil was up 0.1% to $117.71 per barrel as of 6.12 p.m. local time (1512GMT).
