Turkish stock market closes higher on Wednesday

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed at 2,451.43 points on Wednesday with a 1.37% daily gain.

Starting the day at 2,425.36 points, the index jumped 33.13 points from Tuesday's close of 2,418.30.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,905 by market close, down from $1,909.60 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 0.6% to $104 per barrel as of 6.39 p.m. local time (1539GMT).
