Turkish stock market up at Thursday's close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed at 2,425.56 points on Thursday, with a daily gain of 0.72%.

Starting the day at 2,408.15 points, the BIST 100 index was up by over 17.41 points from Wednesday's close of 2,408.15.

Its lowest value during the day was 2,403.51, while the highest was 2,428.62 with 83 stocks on the index rose and 17 fell compared to the previous close..

The total market value was more than 1.9 trillion Turkish liras ($112 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 22.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).

One ounce of gold traded for $1,756.40 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was at $105.6 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1630GMT).
