Turkish stocks end Monday with gains
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index up 6.58 points from previous week's close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Monday at 1,997.33 points, up 0.33% from the previous week’s close.
Starting the day at 1,982.19 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 6.58 points from Friday’s close of 1,990.75 points.
During Monday’s trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,963.76 points and 2,011.63 points – 45 stocks on the index rose, 51 fell and four were flat compared to the previous close.
The benchmark index closed the day with a market value of around 1.6 trillion Turkish liras ($111 billion) and a daily trading volume of 34 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by iron and steel producer Kardemir, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and another iron and steel producer Eregli.
Frozen foods producer Kerevitas was the best performer, with its shares up 7.83%, while stocks of energy company Odas saw the biggest drop of 7.53%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,985.00 by market close, up from $1,947.75 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
Driven by the fallout of Russia’s war on Ukraine, including measures taken against Moscow by the West and supply disruption concerns, Brent crude was trading at $123.33 per barrel – a gain of 4.42% – as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT) on Monday.
