Turkish stocks end week in green

Benchmark BIST 100 index earns around 42.4 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the week at 9,380.95 points on Friday, up 0.45% from its previous close.

After starting the day at 9,352.49, the BIST 100 index earned 42.37 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,260.01, while the daily high was 9,406.53.

On Friday, 59 indexes gained in value, while 37 closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 92 billion Turkish liras ($2.41 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.6 trillion liras ($225.9 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.0615 as of 6.45 pm local time (1545GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 43.2115, and the GBP/TRY traded at 49.7040.

The price of gold was $3,238.13 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $63.40.
