Turkish stocks flat at Friday's open

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreases 1.91 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 1,413.12 points, falling 0.14% or 1.91 points from the previous close.

At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.84% at 1,415.03 points, with a daily trading volume of 17.87 billion Turkish liras ($2.11 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.5200 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, from 8.4660 at the previous close.

One euro traded for 10.3800 Turkish liras, versus 10.3310, while British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 12.0900 from 12.0450 at Thursday's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $69.09 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
