Turkish stocks flat at Thursday's open

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index remained stable at opening session compared to previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,432.94 points on Thursday, marginally up 0.01% or 0.14 points from the previous close.

At midweek's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.21% to 1,432.80 points, with a daily trading volume of 17.93 billion Turkish liras ($1.92 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 9.2510 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 9.2500 on Wednesday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 10.7810, up from 10.7780, while one British pound traded for 12.7740 Turkish liras, down from 12.8050.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $85.18 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
