Turkish stocks flat at Tuesday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,454.14 points on Tuesday, slightly down by 0.08% or 1.11 points from the previous close.

At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.53% at 1,455.25 points, with a daily trading volume of 13.9 billion Turkish liras ($1.64 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.4830 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.4750 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 9.9820 versus 9.9800, while one British pound traded for 11.7460 Turkish liras, down from 11.7580.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $69.08 as of 10:00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
