Turkish stocks up at Thursday's open
Index posts gain of over 6 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,236.21 points on Thursday, up 6.06 points or 0.27% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 1.07% to close at 2,230.15 points on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 33.89 billion Turkish liras ($2.31 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 14.6593 as of 09.43 a.m. local time (0643GMT) from 14.6430 at Wednesday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate also increased to 16.3675 from 16.3410, while one British pound traded for 19.2569 Turkish liras, down from 19.3320 at the last close.
Brent crude oil traded for around $107.25 per barrel at 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), falling 3.76% following NBC news reporting that Washington is considering a plan to release 1 million barrels of oil per day from the strategic petroleum reserve for about six months.
