Turkish stocks up more than 2% at Wednesday's close
Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 197.95 points at midweek's closing session

ISTANBUL (AA)— The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,474.96 points, up 2.13% from its previous close.
After starting the day at 9,273.00, the BIST 100 index rose 197.95 points from Tuesday's close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,255.47, while the daily high was 9,474.96.
On Wednesday, 90 indexes gained in value, while 10 closed the day with losses.
The total transaction volume reached 75.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.93 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.58 trillion liras ($219.7 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 39.1235 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 44.8895, and the GBP/TRY traded at 53.2965.
The price of gold was $3,373.35 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $64.55.
