Turkish VP to visit Tunisia for Essebsi’s funeral

Fuat Oktay to attend funeral of Tunisia's late President Beji Caid Essebsi, say presidential sources

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s vice president will leave his county for Tunisia Friday to attend the funeral ceremony of the late President Beji Caid Essebsi, according to presidential sources.

Fuat Oktay will attend the memorial service which will be held in the capital Tunis on Saturday, the sources said.

Essebsi died on Thursday at the age of 92 in a military hospital in Tunis after hospitalized over health concerns a day earlier.

Many leaders and foreign delegations are expected to attend the funeral ceremony of Essebsi.

Oktay is also expected to meet with the heads of state and other officials during the visit.
