TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (AA) – Türkiye graduate and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Türkiye Scholarships receiver Shoirahon Nurdinova now works as an expert at the Presidency of Uzbekistan.

Speaking to Anadolu, Nurdinova said that she got her Ph.D. from Anadolu University in Eskisehir, Türkiye, in 2019. She had previously got her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Uzbekistan National University.

Noting that she received a very advanced education in Türkiye, Nurdinova stated that after she returned to Uzbekistan, she led the work of the Regional Committee of the Central Asian Research Society, which was formed to develop cooperation with other young Central Asian academics studying in Türkiye.

Nurdinova, who started her career as a lecturer at Namangan State University after returning to her country, was later appointed as a senior expert at the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Presidency of Uzbekistan.

"The education I received in Türkiye was the most important turning point in my life," said Nurdinova, adding she got to present papers at international congresses held in the US, Hong Kong, England, the Netherlands and Spain while doing her Ph.D. in Türkiye.

"While I was studying in Türkiye, I had the opportunity to meet and contact the world's most important scientists in their field of expertise," she added.

Nurdinova said that although Türkiye is geographically far from Uzbekistan, the peoples of the two countries share common values, adding she felt welcomed in Türkiye from day one.

She said that she missed Türkiye and Turkish people when she was visiting other countries during her Ph.D. years, adding she got used to Turkish people and cuisine very quickly.
