Türkiye stock exchange flat at Friday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,088.48 points on Friday, slightly up 0.04%, or 2.28 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 0.29% to close the day at 5,086.20, with a daily trading volume of 68 billion Turkish liras ($3.6 billion),

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8796 as of 9.54 a.m. local time (0954GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.0161, while a British pound traded for 22.6960 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.97 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,831.65.
