Türkiye to host Eurimages board meeting this week

ANKARA (AA) – The board of Eurimages, the European fund supporting the co-production and distribution of cinematographic and audiovisual works, will convene in Türkiye on Tuesday for its first meeting of 2025.

The two-day gathering, hosted by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, will take place in Istanbul, marking the first time in 21 years that the board has met in the city.

Representatives from 39 member states are expected to attend the meeting, which will also mark the first major international engagement for Italian film producer Roberto Cicutto, recently appointed president of Eurimages.

Established in 1989, Eurimages has played a key role in financing European cinema and supporting international co-productions, serving as a cultural and diplomatic bridge.

The meeting is expected to enhance cooperation between Türkiye’s film industry and the broader European cinema landscape, further strengthening international partnerships.
