PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AA) – Türkiye’s state-run aid agency on Thursday delivered state-of-the-art medical and hospital equipment to a hospital in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's northwestern province.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) presented cutting-edge medical and hospital equipment to the pediatric cardiology department of Peshawar Cardiology Hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a ceremony attended by Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Pacaci and other distinguished guests.

During the event at the hospital, Ambassador Pacaci underscored the long-standing partnership between Türkiye and Pakistan, highlighting their historical ties in health care, education, and other fields.

Pacaci acknowledged the unwavering support between the two nations in times of adversity, citing the Feb. 6 twin earthquakes in eastern Türkiye, which claimed over 50,000 lives and affected over 14 million people.

He shared his firsthand experience of the Pakistani people's heartfelt solidarity with Türkiye during that challenging period.

Professor Dr. Seyid Shahkar Ahmed, the medical director of Peshawar Cardiology Hospital, expressed gratitude to Türkiye and TIKA for their invaluable support.

On the occasion, TIKA Islamabad Coordinator Muhsin Balci said the donation included a variety of modern medical and hospital equipment, such as an echocardiography (ECHO) machine, bedside monitors, and patient beds, all of which are allocated to the pediatric cardiology department.

Additionally, TIKA has also established a dedicated play area to improve the environment for child patients.

Accompanied by health officials, the ambassador visited the hospital and conducted inspections to ensure proper installation and functionality of the equipment.
