Türkiye's BIST 100 index climbs 1.28% at Monday's close

Benchmark index earns 145.03 points on week's 1st transaction day

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 11,456.34 points, up 1.28% from the previous close.

Starting the new week at 11,349.23 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 145.03 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 11,328.64, while its daily high was 11,468.77.

During the day, 69 stocks on the index rose and 28 fell compared to the previous close.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 10.73 trillion Turkish liras ($252.4 billion), with a daily trading volume of 127.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.98 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,321.60, while Brent crude oil sold for around $60.55 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 42.6965, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 50.2695, and the British pound traded for 57.2045 Turkish liras.
