Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes week in red

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week on Friday at 13,521.96 points, down 0.49%.

After starting the day at 13,585.64 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 67.18 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value of the index was 13,402.61, while the daily high was 13,628.01.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 13.39 trillion Turkish liras ($308.2 billion), with a trading volume of 166 billion liras ($3.81 billion).

A total of 38 stocks on the index rose and 60 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $4,935.70 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $68.15 per barrel as of 7.30 pm local time (1630GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.6140, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 51.5580, and the British pound traded for 59.3800 liras.
