Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,291.91 points on Thursday, down 0.11%, or 5.86 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1.28% to close Wednesday at 5,297.77, with a daily trading volume of 112.7 billion Turkish liras ($5.98 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8126 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.5217, while a British pound traded for 23.3116 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $86.17 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,942.15.
