Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,057.43 points on Thursday, down by 0.28%, or 13.98 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.51% to close the day at 5,071.41, with a daily trading volume of 77 billion Turkish liras ($4.1 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8786 as of 10.23 a.m. local time (0723GMT) and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.0477, while a British pound traded for 22.7819 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $80.90 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,837.20.
