Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,396.99 points on Tuesday, down 0.14%, or 7.45 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 1.56% to close Monday at 5,404.43, with a daily trading volume of 116 billion Turkish liras ($6.16 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8075 as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.4755, while a British pound traded for 23.3050 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $88.10 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.60.
