Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at weekly close

ISTANBUL (AA) -Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 11,288.05 points, down 0.71% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 11,388.31 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 80.73 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value was 11,262.82, while the daily high was 11,405.54.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 10.5 trillion Turkish liras ($256.25 billion), with a trading volume of 122.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.96 billion).

Some 71 stocks on the index dropped and 29 rose, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $3,445.05 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $67.35 per barrel as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 41.1495, and the euro/Turkish lira was 48.1390, while the British pound traded for 55.5885 Turkish liras.
