Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Thursday on positive note

Benchmark stock index earns 75.82 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 10,979.73 points, increasing 0.7%.

Starting the day at 10,959.01 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 75.82 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest value of the index was 10,887.04, while the daily high was 11,038.75.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 10.27 trillion Turkish liras ($243 billion), with a daily trading volume of 125.5 billion liras ($2.96 billion).

Some 60 stocks on the index rose and 36 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold's price was $4,098.40 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $63.80 per barrel as of 6.28 pm local time (1528GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 42.3705, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 48.9740, and the British pound traded for 55.6365 liras.
