Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Thursday up

Benchmark index earns around 205 points on 4th transaction day

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the day at 9,279.21 points on Thursday, up 2.25% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 9,123.90 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 204.59 points from Wednesday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 9,093.65, while its daily high was 9,302.62.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 8.46 trillion Turkish liras ($219.46 billion), with a daily trading volume of 97 billion Turkish liras ($2.51 billion).

During the day, 88 stocks on the index rose and 12 dropped compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,332.77, while Brent crude oil sold for around $62.80 per barrel as of 6.55 p.m. local time (1555GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 38.6260, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 43.5730, while one British pound traded for 51.4750 Turkish liras.
