Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends week with gains

Benchmark index up 48.03 points at Friday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Friday at 10,507.11 points, up 0.46% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 10,453.65, gained 48.03 points from the close on Thursday.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 10,407.44, while the daily high was 10,556.78.

During the day, 70 indexes gained value while 27 closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 134.4 billion Turkish liras ($3.68 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.28 trillion liras ($255.1 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.4430 as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 39.5690, and the GBP/TRY traded at 47.0915.

The price of gold was $2,925.50 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $71.05.
