Türkiye's BIST 100 index flat at midweek close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 13,787.82 points, slightly down 0.07% from its previous close.

Starting the third transaction day of the week at 13,729.36 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 9.22 points from the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 13,680.91, while its daily high was 13,912.94.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 13.64 trillion Turkish liras ($313.2 billion), with a daily trading volume of 195.8 billion Turkish liras ($4.48 billion).

During the day, 54 stocks on the index rose and 45 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $5,051.50, while Brent crude oil sold for around $69.5 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.6395 and the euro/lira exchange rate was 51.8010, while the British pound traded at 59.6490 liras.
