Türkiye's BIST 100 index Thursday soars 1.61%

Benchmark index earns around 164 points at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended day at 10,331.31 points on Thursday, up 1.61%.

Starting the day at 10,266.31 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 164.05 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest value was 10,266.31, while the daily high was 10,365.11.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 9.5 trillion Turkish liras ($237.7 billion), with a trading volume of 118 billion Turkish liras ($2.96 billion).

Some 85 stocks on the index rose and 14 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $3,319.10 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $68.40 per barrel as of 7.10 p.m. local time (1610GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 40.0705, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 46.9525, while the British pound traded for 54.5120 Turkish liras.
