Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Friday open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,454.41 points on Friday, gaining 3.57 points, or 0.15%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.35% to finish Thursday at 2,450.84 points, with a daily trading volume of 39.16 billion Turkish liras ($2.39 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 16.3631 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) down 0.02% for the day.

The euro/lira exchange rate was at 17.5782 for a daily gain of 0.3%, while a British pound traded for 20.6551 liras -- a 0.36% increase.

Brent crude oil was trading around $113.85 per barrel with a 0.3% loss at the time.
