Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at midweek's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,403.74 points on Wednesday, up 0.69%, or 37.22 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 0.7% to close Tuesday at 5,366.52, with a daily trading volume of 108 billion Turkish liras ($5.76 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8083 as of 10.26 a.m. local time (0726GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.5066, while a British pound traded for 23.1898 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $86.36 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,932.05.
