Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday's open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,103.99 points on Thursday, up 15.19 or 0.73% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.45% to close at 2,088.80 points on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 26.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 14.7979 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) from 14.6820 at Wednesday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate also rose to 16.2238 from 16.1430, while one British pound traded for 19.3636 Turkish liras, up from 16.1430 at the last close.

Brent crude oil traded for around $110.18 per barrel at 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).

Investors are focusing on the Turkish Central Bank's interest rate decision set be announced on Thursday.
