Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,329.06 points on Thursday, gaining 12.66 points, or 0.55%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.43% to close at 2,316.40 points on Wednesday, with a daily trade volume of 43.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 14.7401 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.7450 at the midweek’s close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 16.0910 from 16.0940, while a British pound traded for 19.2955 liras, down from 19.3390 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $102.6 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the ounce price of gold was at $1,925.40.
